OWASS STORMS ST. LOUIS THIS SATURDAY FOR ‘IDIULIUM 2016’ AS PREMPEH LOOKS ON

Students of Opoku Ware School are expected to besiege the campus of St. Louis SHS this Saturday to join their ‘allia’ partners to crown their SRC week with an exciting program dubbed “Idiulium 2016”

The program on Saturday to be staged at the new Assembly Hall of St. Louis will see exciting and educative segments including performances from the Literary Groups of the host school and other supporting school.

Our reports from the Santisburg campus indicate that the boys are upbeat about the programme as they prepare to unite not in holy matrimony but in “Idiulium 2016” with their longtime partners.

Against the backdrop that their rivals Prempeh College staged a very successful collaboration with their new found affection K-Wey Gey Hey, Opoku Ware are poised to collaborate with their partners Louis to upstage their rivals.

Looks like a silent bet between the two boy’s schools about which institution has the strongest ‘allia’ and with the seeming patchy YAGSS-Prempeh alliance, the AKATASLOPSA will hope to use Saturday’s Idiulium 2016 programme to make a strong case.

If the huge numbers of Prempeh Students who thronged K-Wey Gey Hey last Saturday was anything to go by then, Opoku Ware will have a huge mountain to climb to match up those numbers.

Other invited schools are also expected to grace the occasion but the obvious attention will be on how many Opoku Ware Students will be there to show love and support.

Various programmes have been lined up for the SRC Week Celebrations of St. Louis including a talk by National Commission on Civic Education among other exciting programmes.

I think when it comes to Opoku Ware School and St. Louis Secondary School, is not just about the alliance but also the respect both schools have for each other. The boys need not to storm as Prempeh College did at K Wey Gey Hey but rather show massive support for the success of the program.

And I ask, what is it with various SRC weeks in these Senior High Schools? The initiative is good but i think it should not be seen as a season of funfairs at the SHS level.
