KINGS COLLEGE ACCUSE KNUST SHS AND T.K.S.S. OF MATCH FIXING AFTER ELIMINATION

Kings College yesterday refused to honor their last match of the qualifiers of the Ashanti Regional Inter-schools soccer competition at Armed Forces after accusing KNUST SHS of playing a fixed match with Tweneboa Kodua SHS.

The Airport Roundabout based school complained vehemently to Referee G.K Manu and his other colleagues after accusing KNUST of aiding TK to qualify when they were also in pole position to qualify.

Both TKSS and KINGCO needed wins in their last matches to qualify and therefore the very last matches for these teams were played under serious scrutiny.

However, KNUST needed to play TKSS before the last game involving KINGCO and St. Joseph’s and with both TKSS and KINGCO needing a win badly, the match attracted a lot of interest. KNUST had already accepted their fate that they would not go through and therefore did not give the match the best shot.

A very bizarre penalty committed by a KNUST player even compounded the fears of KINGCO team who felt it was a deliberate ploy to get TKSS to qualify ahead of them.

It is unclear whether they will back it with a concrete protest.
