Following the successful stagingof the ACME QUIZ preliminary competition last Friday at the various centres, the Regional Secretariat has decided to give the fourth placed schools in the various zones an opportunity to compete in the finals of the competition slated for February 2017.
The highly competitive academic competition on English Language, Social Studies, Current Affairs and Multimedia saw 60 member schools compete for a place in the final which was originally for the first to third positions in the various zones but the Regional Office has reviewed the earlier arrangement to include the fourth placed schools as well. This decision is motivated by the excellent performance put up by the schools and the call by patrons to make the final more competitive with increased participation.
This appeal by some patrons and students was critically examined and deliberated upon by the regional office, consequently the office has decided to give the fourth placed schools an opportunity to compete in the final.
This means that sixteen schools will battle it out for the coveted trophy won by Konongo Odumasi last year.
The full list of qualified schools will be published shortly.
The Council congratulates all member schools for honouring our invitation and wishes the sixteen qualified schools all the best.
A record sixty schools took part in the elimination contest held at the zonal level in four different centers.
