OWASS Overpowers Armed Forces, St. Monica, Amass, Others To Win ARSRC’s Zone Two Acme Quiz Contest

Opoku Ware School produced an amazing performance to set a new zonal record in zone two as they overpowered sixteen schools to place first in zone two in the preliminary round of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council Acme Quiz Competition.
The competition was held last Friday at Kumasi Academy with participation from sixteen schools Including host school Kumasi Academy,  Anglican SHS, St. Monica SHS, Armed Forces SHS,  KASS, T. I. Amass, Fomena, Sakafia SHS, Ideal College, Jacob SHTS, St. Joseph’s, St. Hubert, SDA SHS- Bekwai, Kofi Agyei SHTS and Denyaseman SHS.

Opoku Ware amassed unprecedented 71 points in four rounds of English Language, Social Studies,  Current Affairs and Multimedia on their way to this feat beating Armed Forces SHTS who secured two points less.
T. I. Amass, Fomena secured 64 points to book a third spot with St. Monica picking the 4th position with 60 points to qualify for the final contest scheduled for February next year.

The first four schools qualify for the final competition in each of the four zones.

At the end of the contest in zone two hosted by Kumasi Academy,  the following were the results.

1st   OWASS 71 pts
2nd  Armed Forces 69 pts
3rd   T. I. Amass, Fomena 64 pts
4th   St. Monica 60 pts
