Prempeh College Out; Amass, OKESS, OWASS, Collins, Akrofuom Soldier On To Quarter Finals

Prempeh College was the biggest casulty today at the Baba Yara Stadium in the ongoing Ashanti Regional inter-schools soccer competition. Agogo based Collins Senior Commercial surprised Prempeh College today in the last match of the day to book a date with Islamic Senior High on Monday.

Collins posted a 1:0 victory over Prempeh College in the dying embers of the game after a well worked out move was beautifully converted by a player of Collins to set the stadium ablaze.

Islamic Senior High early on won 3:1 on penalties over an entertaining Ejisuman side who won the hearts of many fans with their fluid flowing football. Islamic equalised with a beautifully converted free kick after Ejisuman took the lead through a penalty.
In the end Islamic sealed qualification to the quarter finals of the competition.

Opoku Ware School was tested strongly by Adanwomasi SHS but managed to win narrowly after missing numerous opportunities. Opoku Ware dominated play and should have won by a bigger margin but lack of potency upfront robbed them of a resounding victory. Owass eventually won by 1:0 to book a quarter final ticket.

Osei Kyeretwie s.h.s also managed to post a 1:0  victory over Fawoade based Simms Commercial but will need to up their game in the quarter finals if what they exhibited is anything to go by. An own goal in the first five minutes of the game was all OKESS needed to book a quarter final ticket. Simms came back strongly but failed to find the net.

T. I. Amass Kumasi failed to glitter against a resilient Manso Adubia side but did was important on the day by winning on penalties. Amass faced the wrath of many fans at the stadium who felt that the referee on the day was aiding the course of Amass. Manso were reduced to ten men but managed to hold on to push the game to penalties. Amass won on penalties after a pulsating scoreless game.

Akrofuom Senior High School booked a quarter final ticket to become the surprised package of the tournament after a 6:5 penalty victory over Sakafia SHS in the first game of the day. The two sides played a 1:1 drawn game as Akrofuom finally won on penalties.  The Akrofuom based school have surprised many pundits after eliminating defending champions Obuasi Senior High technical enroute to this stage.

    If you know the school has unqualified player why don’t u say it before the game but rather lose and go for protest
