The Leadership of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council has made a clarion call to registered student voters in the Ashanti Region to vote on issues affecting students and not on trivial considerations.
Speaking to our Editorial team, the Regional President Odartey Samuel Lamptey on behalf of the entire executive body entreated students in the region who are registered voters to go massively on Wednesday to exercise their franchise to make their opinions count in the upcoming national elections.
He called on students of the region to vote on issues affecting students and not based on tribal, religious or partisan considerations.
He cited a number of issues that ought to inform the voting pattern of students like the the quality versus free education debate, employment opportunities after schools, economic considerations, school fees affordability, Vocational and Technical Training, Accessible and affordable tertiary education, among other considerations.
He called on Politicians as well to expose students to their policies or manifestos on education so as to give students an informed positions in their decision making.
The Regional President Odartey Samuel Lamptey has also made a passionate appeal to students to stay away from violence on election day and avoid being used as instruments of violence.
