The boys will be separated from the men when the four semi finalists battle it out on Monday to determine who qualifies to the grand finale in the ongoing Ashanti Regional inter-schools soccer competition.
Semi-finals 1. KASS vs T. I. Amass, Kumasi
Perhaps this will be the most exciting match of the day as one of the pre – tournament favourites Amass takes on Kumasi Anglican SHS at the Baba Yara Stadium.
T. I. Amass had a relatively easy passage in the quarter final winning 2:0 over unconvincing Sakafia SHS who won a protest over Akrofuom SHS.
KASS managed to eliminate another pre – tournament favourites Adu Gyamfi Senior High School on penalties courtesy a brilliant display of goalkeeping skills from their shotstopper in a highly entertaining game.
KASS lacks creativity in their team and create few chances as a team while Amass work so hard relying on their maturity and possess individual quality in their attack and defence.
It will be a brains at Work when two licence A coaches of Amass, Tactical Sabuto and Alhaji team up against a very practical Patoo’s side whose understanding and reading of the game is amazing.
The dynamics of this semi final will see a highly tactical energetic fast pace KASS side who love to operate form the middle and the wings as against a very matured and experienced Amass side who grind out results through individual quality.
Prediction: A narrow victory for KASS in regulation time but Amass win if travels to penalties.
Semi-finals 2. Opoku Ware School VS Islamic SHS
Another interesting semi final match will see OWASS take on high flying Islamic Senior High School in a game of contrasting styles.
OWASS managed to eliminate another tournament favourites OKESS in a very entertaining game where highly disciplined OWASS side proved unyielding for a determined OKESS side that possessed so much quality. This approach by OWASS makes them favourites against an unfancied Islamic side that keeps surprising followers of this tournament.
Islamic also dispatched another tournament favourites Collins Senior High Commercial in the quarter finals to reach this stage. Though Islamic do not look solid as a team, they capitalize on errors to punish opponents while OWASS are not so productive upfront but quite a unit as a team.
OWASS lacks creativity in their team and create few chances as team relying on thier bulky striker to hold up play and wait for support putting defenders under pressure while Islamic work so hard as a team but lack individual quality though they do have a good striker leading their attack.
Prediction : RaphSark predicts a narrow win for OWASS.
