The new trend in recent times is collaboration between a boys school and girls school in the staging of a joint SRC/LG Programme and this is the driving force behind effort by Opoku Ware School to stage a joint programme with Kumasi Girls Senior High School early next term.
That attempt though seemed to have suffered a setback following a difficulty in picking a date convenient for both schools and the Regional SRC.
Though the schools have struck ed a mutual consent to stage the programme with the support of both authorities, the only available date of 28th January, has clashed with the Regional Literary Group Preliminary Competition and this seemed to have thrown the much anticipated programme off gear as efforts to have an alternative date is proving to be a herculean task.
The Local SRC of Opoku turned their attention to Kumasi Girls for the joint programme following a similar successful one organized by Prempeh College and Kumasi Wesley Girls Senior High School just some few weeks ago.
Though efforts to find a way around are being persued by the local SRCs, it is increasingly becoming a challenge due to the packed calendar of the second term which has inter-co and suzo, the Regional SRC Week Celebrations, Mock Exams plus other local programmes.
The Opoku Ware boys were highly anticipating this joint programme with Kumasi Girls at least as a departure away from their traditional St. Louis SHS partnership and will be hoping that the bottlenecks could be resolved and a compromised date agreed upon.
Opoku Ware School graced a programme organized by St Louis SHS this term but seeks to do this collaboration with Kumasi Girls early next term.
