Spriteball Champions OWASS Presents Trophy to Catholic Archbishop, Director of Education

The victorious basketball team of Opoku Ware School went on a trophy tour today to present the trophies they won some days ago to stakeholders of the school.

The history making team made a stop at the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi to Present their trophy to the Archbishop Gabriel  Justice Yaw Anokye and the Vicar.

The team was led by school authorities and Head of the P.E. Department Mr. Orlando. The Archbishop commended the team for making them proud and winning the first ever Spriteball championship for the region in the face of stiff position from other schools.

The team then moved on to the Regional Education Directorate where they presented the trophy they won to the Regional Director of Education Mrs Mary Owusu Achiaw who also commended the team for their historic feat. In attendance were the technical handlers of the side Kofi Takyi (KT) and Mr. Owusu.

Opoku Ware School (OWASS) has won the tenth anniversary edition of the Sprite Ball Championship after the Ashanti Region side beat Mfantsipim School 27-25 in the final game of the tournament. Opoku Ware completed revenged the semi final loss to the same side in the last edition.
