KNUST SHS makes Ashanti Proud as they Win 2017 Independence Debate

KNUST SHS in Kumasi today beat opposition from Pope John Minor Seminary from Eastern Region to win the 2017 Independence Day Debate Competition which took place at GNAT Hall. The debate was on the motion; “Mobilising for Ghana’s future: The Youth are key stateholders in National Development”. KNUST SHS spoke for the motion whilst Pope John Minor Seminary spoke against the motion.

At the end of the contest, KNUST SHS amassed 612 points as Pope John came second with 583 points all out of 750 points. Pope John represented the southern zone whilst KNUST SHS represented the northern zone after overpowering Prempeh College in the zonal finals.

It is noteworthy that Pope John Minor Seminary has been winners of this competition for more than three times with two consecutive wins in 2015 and 2016 and is the best debate school in Ghana.

Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council congratulates KNUST SHS for this feat.
