Don’t enter female dormitories and houses: Male Teachers cautioned by Regional Director of Education

The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Mary Owusu Achiaw has cautioned male teachers of various senior high schools in the region to desist from entering female houses and dormitories. She reiterated the need to respect and enforce the Code of Ethics of Ghana Education Service which frowned on such acts.

In a circular released to various senior high schools across the region, she was emphatic that any male teacher who visits female dormitories for whatever reason will not be countenanced.

She believes that female teachers should have the sole prerogative to conduct searches or other related tasks in female dormitories while male counterparts do same in male houses or dormitories.

It is unclear what has precipitated the enforcement of this directive but the Regional Directed clearly means her words and will ensure compliance to the latter.
