Our Editorial team has sighted a copy of letter dated 20th April and signed by the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo under the Ghana Education Service act, 1995 (Act 506 section 12 (1)) has appointing a new Director General for Ghana Education Service. This was in a letter dated 20th April, 2017.
Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwaah is set to take over as the new Director general of education.
Prof. Amankwaah is the Dean of International Programmes Office and former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, KNUST.
He has been a lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for some years and served in different capacities.
Prof. Amankwaah is a communication expert and has been vociferous on a number of issues of national concern.
The Council therefore takes this opportunity to congratulate Prof. Amankwaah on his new appointment.
Should his nomination be accepted, Prof. Amankwaah will take over from the highly respected and astute educationist Dr. Jacob Kor.
His appointment will be offcially announced after after prior consultation with the Ghana Education Service (GES) Council and the Public Services Commission.
