In its bid to prevent any student demonstration and chaos, the ARSRC begun its long series of Intensive orientation today at Adventist Senior High School, Bantama. Also present was Asanteman Senior High School.
Although Islamic S.H.S and Kumasi Wesley Girls were supposed to be present, they failed to turn up at the orientation. This however did not deter the “tunnel visioned” Orientation team as they went about their aim with vibrancy and effectiveness.
The Local Council members of the two schools were taken through the history, structural organization, aims and the activities of the ARSRC by Hon. Osborn Opoku, a regional administrative assistant.
Hon. Akwasi Boakye, an APEC member took the house through the intervention signs and conduct at meetings.
Hon. Raphael Sarkodie, the regional coordinator took the house through an intensive, informative and interactive session on the role of the local SRC in ensuring peace and a serene environment which is conducive for studies.
What made Hon. Sarkodie’s message memorable and definitely unforgettable was his funny stories which kept his audience on the edge of their seats ready for more. He however took opportunity of this attentiveness on the part of his audience to drive home his message. He did not forget to advise the local council members to not forget their books in the fulfilment of their roles as students’ representatives. He did all this and went the extra with the inclusion of picture slides projected.
This is just the first of many orientations to come.
