NSMQ 2017: Full Contest Pairings as Ashanti Schools face tough oppositions

All is set for this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz to commence as thirty six contests are line up for the preliminary round of the contest at the University of Ghana.

As we keenly follow the performances of schools from Ashanti Region, arsrconline.com is keeping tabs on how it will pun out for the schools representing the Region.

In all there will be 36 preliminary contests made up three schools in each contest. The winning 36 schools will progress to the next round while the top 18 loosing schools with the highest scores will also pick their tickets to the next round.

These 36 schools plus the 18 highest score losers will then join the 27 seeded schools for the main contests.

The following contests have Ashanti interest fully represented.

Contest 1: Osei Tutu SHS will battle Odorgonno and Breman Asikuma SHS

COntest 4: Fomena T.I. Amass takes on Sogakofe and St. Paul’s SHS of Denu

Contest 5: Tepa SHS takes on Tamale Presby SHS and Bompeh SHTS

Contest 8: Kumasi Girls SHS takes on Fijai SHS and Nkroful Agric SHS

Contest 12: Obuasi ‘SECTEC, Armed Forces SHTS, Ashaiman SHS

Contest 18: Dwamena Akenteng, Aburi Girls and St. Charles SHS

Contetst 20: Simms Commercial, St. John’s Gramma, Berekum Presby SHS

Contest 23: Toase SHS, Awudome, Ghana SHS, Koforidua

Contest 25: Yaa Asantewaa takes on St. Augustines and St. Peter’s SHS (Group of death)

Contest 29: Kumasi Academy takes on Mawuli and Mawuko Girls

Contest 30: Aduman takes on Akwamuman and Business SHS

Contest 31: Kumasi T. I. Amass takes on Jachie Pramso SHS and St. Mary’s SHS

Contetst 32: Konongo Odumasi will take on St. Louis and Suhum SHS

Contest 34: Osei Kyeretwie SHS takes on St. Monica’s SHS and St. Johns Sekondi

Contest 36: Juaso SHTS takes on Sunyani SHS and Accra High School

The likes of St. Hubert, Opoku Ware, Prempeh College, Kumasi High School, KNUST and Bekwai SDA are all part of the 27 schools who will not be part of the preliminary round. They have been seeded and will join the next round.

The preliminary round begins on Monday and ends on Saturday.
