The Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council in its bid to promote students’ democracy held a “joint orientation” program for Jachie Pramso senior high school (The hosts), St. George’s SHS and Beposo SHS today, 18th of October, 2017.
Hon. Francis Addo took the house through the acceptable conduct at SRC meetings. He also spoke about the acceptable ways to channel information during meetings.
SRC members of these three schools were taken through an intensive session on ways to develop initiatives to combat problems facing students. Hon. Raphael Sarkodie the coordinator of the ARSRC took the house through the history, aims, actvities and structure of the SRC.
He also took the house through the acceptable conduct at meetings.
The students were given a practical lesson as they were made to do a mock sitting. The mock sitting gave students the chance to put into action the lessons they have received.
One thing was praiseworthy was how the delegates each comported themselves as they were impacted with the ways of the ARSRC. Delegates were taught invaluable leadership skills which is bound to take them places should they choose to adher to it. Delegates also had the benefit of being taught how to play an active role in the prevention of students unrest in their various institutions.
This wrapped up a great day at Japass.
Watch out for the ARSRC’s orientation team, soon to hit your school.
