T. I. Amass, Fomena once again has been hit by fire in the girl’s dormitory prompting the authorities of the school to sanction an early midterm for the school as the students are made to go home for authorities to assess the damage and consider the next option.
This is the second fire incidence in about a spate of four weeks and the fourth incidence in the last one year with many suspecting foul play in the whole saga.
The new Headmaster of the school who reported to the school just some few weeks ago is confronted with this challenge and may quickly have to find an immediate and a permanent solution to this series of fires at Fomena Amass.
The fire started Tuesday afternoon during classes time according to our information and managed to consume about two big rooms containing about eighty girls in the girls dormitory.
Properties including mattresses, chop box, students items like books, bags and others were completely burnt. Thankfully, no lives were lost.
The authorities after assessment concluded on early midterm to afford the authorities some time to put things right. The students are expected back by next Wednesday.
Fomena Amass has become a model school in discipline, academics and other areas.
The school were crowned the Regional Champions of the ARSRC ACME QUIZ competition last year, they also managed to go far in the national science and maths quiz as well as other notable feats.
The Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council is solidly behind the school in this difficult times and calls on authorities to come to the aid of this noble institution.
