The unending rivalry between Opoku Ware School and Prempeh College will be renewed in Basketball on Monday after the two sides tied at 16:16 by close of the finals of the Ashanti Regional Inter-schools Basketball competition which came off today at Opoku Ware School.
The two teams qualified to the finals to renew their old rivalry which saw Owass win the last year finals against the same Prempeh College by 19:15 but the case was different this year with Prempeh College unwilling to succumb to Opoku Ware this time round. In the end it was 16:16 by the blast of the final whistle and with visibility so low, the Federation decided to reschedule the final match to Monday the 6th of November.
This has been the most keenly contested Basketball final in recent history and Owass’ KT and Prempeh’s Agoro will once again think through their tactics this weekend ahead of the Monday final replay.
Owass defeated Toase in the quarter final before accounting for T. I. Amass in the Semis. Prempeh on the other hand accounted for Islamic and KASS enroute to the finals.
In the 3rd place match in the Boys division, T. I. Amass defeated KASS to pick the final ticket for the Spriteball Championship.
