Prempeh College look set to make a strong statement in this year’s Inter-schools soccer competition following some fine form in their build up to the competition.
Prempeh College are bidding to win the competition for the second time in five years.
Coach Anokye has been impressed with preparations so far and is hoping for a very good outing in the competition.
Prempeh started their preparations with a four team tournament with Toase SHS, Mankranso SHS and Kofi Agyei SHTS. Prempeh managed to win all matches in the competition to kick-start their preparations.
That was followed a second tournament hosted by Bekwai SDA. The Sofoline based school beat Denyasiman SHS 1:0, and drew with St. Joseph’s and host Bekwai SDA.
Prempeh then hosted a third tournament featuring Barekese, Collins Commercial and Tweneboa Kodua SHS.
Prempeh won 3:0 against Barekese, drew 0:0 with Tweneboa Kodua SHS before losing to a very matured Agogo based Collins SHS by 3:1.
Out of the nine matches so far played by Prempeh in their build up to the qualifiers of the Inter-schools soccer competition, they have won 5 matches, drawn two and lost only one.
Prempeh are drawn in the same group with Denyasiman,Ejuraman and newly formed Agric Nzema Community SHS with the matches set for 13th November at Kumasi Girls SHS.
Coach Anokye and Agoro will have a lot on their mind on that day as they bid to restore the glory days of Prempeh College.
