It is so refreshing and inspiring when past students remember their alma mata after a humble achievement. This was the motivation behind the captain of the national U-17 team, Eric Ayia, who completed Fomena AMASS this year as he paid visit visit to his school with his managers yesterday. His visit was timely considering what the school has been through in the past month.
T. I. Amass has suffered about three fire outbreaks in a spate of one year with the recent one coming only two weeks ago. With students living in despair and authorities still pondering on the next action to take, Eric Ayiah’s visit to his former school was so refreshing and inspiring as the students crowded around their former captain to take pictures with the National captain who scores three goals at the just ended world U17 tournament in India.
The form ones and the school’s soccer team especially were inspired by his address. He expressed the hope that the school progresses beyond the elimination stage of this year’s inter-schools soccer competition.
Ayiah was received by the new Headmaster of the school who took the opportunity to appreciate him for remembering his roots and coming to encourage them at such a difficult time.
