T. I. Amass-Kumasi are through to the semi finals of the ongoing Ashanti Regional inter-schools soccer competition after defeating Kumasi Senior High technical 1:0 in the first match of the day.
A controversial goal which saw KSTS goalkeeper slightly hustled before losing the ball for a tap in which generated heated argument accross the stadium.
Kumasi Anglican SHS were slightly threatened by T. I. Amass Fomena in the 2nd match of the day. Kass took the lead and dominated play but an equaliser from Fomena sparked a renewed enthusiasm fro Fomena who treated the fans to an entertaining soccer Fiesta. Kass scored the winner to silence Fomens as they won 2:1
Adu Gyamfi SHS then made a mince meat of Juaben SHS as they dominated and controlled the game from start to finish. They held on to a 1:0 victory to set up a semi final clash with Islamic SHS. Adu Gyamfi SHS however were very wasteful Infront of goal as they squandered the numerous chances they created. But they managed to hold on to the only goal to book a semi final berth.
Sakafia SHS then gave Islamic SHS a hell of a time in the last match of the day.
Islamic took the lead courtesy a defensive and goalkeeping error by Sakafia but were stretched to their limit by a very hardworking Sakafia side who fought from start to finish. Islamic were reduced to 10 men which piked more pressure on them with Sakafia incessantly pressing for the equalizer from all angles.
Islamic managed to hold on to the only goal to book a semi final clash with Adu Gyamfi SHS.
T. I. Amass-Ksi will thus play defending Champions KASS in the first semi final with Last year finalist Islamic taking on Adu Gyamfi SHS in the other semi final match.
