Kwasi Oppong SHS’s Abdul Razak sets new record ahead of ‘SUZO’

The annual regional inter schools and colleges athletics competition earmarked to unearth talents for the nation is ongoing at the Baba Yara sports stadium. This year’s competition has seen students within the region exhibit talents in various field of sports.
During the time of zone 2 the athletes continued to dazzle their supporters and spectators with wonderful performances. One of such surprises came from Kwasi Oppong SHS.
The school managed to secure a qualification with a team of five boys led by the wonder boy Abdul Razak. The performance of Abdul Razak was exceptional. A case in point was the last race for the second day (400m boys relay) where he was the last to take his baton but out run all the other competitors to claim gold. In addition he won the 100m, 200m and 400m races for the zone.
Abdul Razak also set a new record in the 400m boys race. The record time of 47.26 Seconds has been there since 2012 but he managed to bring it to 47.03 Seconds.
The sports committee of Kwasi Oppong are optimistic that he will lower the time during the super zonals. Their inspiration is as a result of the fact that during the national athletics competition for senior high schools organized in Cape Coast (2017), he set a new record of 46.56 Seconds in the 400m race.
