The whole Osei Keyeretwie SHS community was in mourning today as their beloved student Godfred Arthur was laid to rest today at his hometown in Obuasi.
It was a very sorrowful occasion as students and teachers as well as the family and sympathizers cried their heart out.
Godfred Arthur was laid in state as mourners filed past the body amidst wailing and crying.
The late final year student of OKESS was due to complete this year when his untimely death happened on campus.
It was reported that some robbers stabbed him to death on campus after robbing some students on campus and attempting to escape. The late student was reported to have come face to face with the robbers on the staircase as he he was on his way up to the classroom.
The robbers were purported to have stabbed him on the neck twice after bumping into him while fleeing from the top floor of the classroom where they had robbed some students.
A memorial service was held for him by the school with the Deputy Minister of Education and the Regional Director of Education in attendance.
The Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council wishes the family of the departed student well and calls on the Ministry of Education to fast track the construction of the school wall for OKESS to avoid this sad incidence in the future.
