T. I. Amass Kumasi has been crowned Champions of the maiden edition of the Luv FM /ARSRC High School Debate after overcoming Opoku Ware School by a three point margin.
The two ladies from Amass were a delight to watch as they thrilled the audience at the Christian Service University College auditorium last Friday. Amass narrowly defeated Armed Forces SHTS enroute to the Final with Opoku Ware School accounting for Tepa in the other semi final clash.
The two finalists then battled it out for the bragging rights as the Champions of the competition but it was T. I. Amass who proved too strong for the Owareans as the Principal Speaker Hawawu Hanan displayed mastery of the motion on board “Politicians are to be blamed for the slow pace of our development ”
In the end the judges scored it 229 to 226 in favour of Amass.
In the 3rd place contest Armed Forces SHTS overcame Tepa SHS in another exciting contest.
The Regional Director of Education, Mrs Mary Owusu Achiaw was the Special Guest for the closing ceremony.
The Principal Speaker of Amass Hawawu Hanan won the Overall Best Debater award and took home one thousand Ghana Cedis.
Some mouthwatering prizes including Television, Laptops, Water Dispensers, Decoders, Hampers, Scholarships, Cash Prizes were presented to the schools.
