Sir Raph takes a critical look at all the 32 Groups, analyses each group and predicts which school is likely to come out of each group successfully barring all protests and litigations that may result or change the situations after the qualifiers.

Group 1

Agona Senior High Technical, Presbyterian SHS, Kwamang and Adventist Senior High School, Kumasi will be the favourites from Group 1 as they battle it out on the 12th of November at Kumasi Academy. Newly government absorbed St Sebastian Senior High School and Patrensa SDA will only add to the numbers,
Presby SHS, Kwamang has been in the very good form in their build up to the qualifiers.
Agona SECTEC has also been in quite a good form in their friendlies but Adventist SHS has struggled through their friendlies.

Kwamang Presby SHS Tipped to qualify.

Group 2
In group 2 top 8 winners Sakafia Senior High School are expected to qualify ahead of the Namong senior high technical, Agogo State College and Pentecost Senior High School in what promises to be an exciting encounter on the 12 of november at armed forces senior high school.
Sakafia has been in a lethal form through their friendlies and have shown consistency after winning the ashanti top 8 competition. The maturity and talent of the Salads soccer players will be too hot to handle by the three other schools in this group. The Salads team is a robust, aggressive and talented team that wears opponents down and breaks them into submission by dominating the midfield and utilizing the wings as well.

Sakafia SHS tipped to qualify.

Group 3
This will be a straight fight between Simms SHS and Toase SHS at Prempeh park on the 12th of November. The two schools started preparing quite early and looks poised to edge it over Parkoso and Asare Bediako SHS though it will be too close to call and the winner of the match involving Simms and Toss will be crucial.

TOSS tipped to qualify

Group 4
Obuasi SecTec will be too good for Gyaama Pensan, Krobea Asante and Tweapease SHS in group 4 scheduled for KASS on the 12th of November.
O’SECTEC has been in good form and are expected to sail through with little opposition from Gyaama Pensan and Krobea. The former regional champions under the tutelage of Coach Mambo should be good enough to qualify from this group.

O’SECTEC tipped to qualify.

Group 5
Osei Kyeretwie SHS (OKESS), will not have it easy against Atwima Kwanwoma SHS, Afigyaman SHS and Oyoko based Westphalian SHS at OWASS Park on the 12th of November.
OKESS has had a patchy form in their friendlies loosing 1:0 to Owass, Drawing with Aduman SHS, drawing 2:2 and 0:0 with TKSS and Sahus respectively. OKESS however managed to thump Uthmaniyya 6:1.
Little is known of newly formed Afigyaman and Westphalias but Atwima Kwanwoma will not be pushovers.

OKESS tipped to qualify.

Group 6
OWASS have shown clear intent and looks too prepared for newly Kwanwomaman SHS, Beposo, Methodist Technical and Methodist SHS. Owass has had a wealth of experience with their early preparations having won a number of matches including beating both OKESS and Aduman. The matches will be played at KTI on the 12th.

OWASS tipped to qualify.

DAY TWO Qualifiers
Group 7
It will be a straight fight between Asanteman and Konadu Yiadom in this group scheduled for Kumaca on Tuesday 13th November. Bosome SHS and Effiduasi Technical are the other schools in the group.
Asanteman under the headship of former Nagrat President Christian Addai-Poku looks different in every area and are motivated to qualify with his injection of support and enthusiasm into the team. A very ambitious and demanding Headmaster will obviously not accept anything less than a spot in the last 32. Their friendlies are a confirmation of the new energy in the Asanteman team.

Asanteman tipped to qualify.

Group 8

Prempeh College are expected to secure qualification in group 8 as they take on minnows Konongo Wesley High School and St. Jerome. Akwasi Awobaa SHS should not worry the former Champions. Prempeh College drew 1:1 with Juaben SHS and secured the same scoreline against Konongo Odumasi SHS before losing 1:0 to Anglican SHS in recent friendlies. If the Sofoline based school will put their house in order and ensure that there will be no rancour in the team especially withing their coaching ranks, then qualification beckons for Prempeh College.

Prempeh College tipped to qualify.

Group 9

Six times defending Champions Adu Gyamfi SHS should be to hot to handle but St Micheal’s SHS will flex their muscles small against the best soccer school in the region. With a formidable side that has been consistent for a long time now, Adu Gyamfi without their captain Osei Capito will sail through against Bodomase, Denyasiman and St Micheals. A very well assembled side with quality indepth oiled together by Coach Micheal Opoku are favourites not just for the qualifiers but the competition itself. With a very good ball playing midfielder who like to possess the ball and dominate play from the middle and utilizing the wings after drawing opponents to the middle, the Adgass team are overwhelming favorites. Adu Gyamfi accounted for Our Lady of Grace 5:0, Bodwesango 3:0 and 9:1 against Garden City University College. A clear indication of their form as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary.

Adu Gyamfi SHS tipped to qualify

Group 15

Kumasi High School are favourites to qualify from this group against Ejuraman, Osei Adutwum SHS and Agona SDA SHS. With a potent striker like Nana Addo, KUHIS has a player they can rely on to deliver at all times.

Ejuraman will not be pushovers but KUHIS should be able to deal with that threat. KUHIS managed to beat Owerriman, KSTS,  Beposo all by 1:0 in some of their friendlies and looks poised to qualify. They play at Kumaca on 14th November.

Kumasi High School tipped to qualify.

Group  17

T. I. Amas,Kumasi looks set to qualify from group17 as they take on Oppong Memorial, Banka and Adagya Adagya Apagya SHS. Amass has been looking good through their preparations and a very confident Coach Prince Sabuto is upbeat about their chances this year in the competition. Newly established Banka and Adagya Apagya will come for soccer lessons and exposure but Omess are expected to offer some competition for Amass as group 17 kicks off at Armed Forces SHTS on 14th November.

Amass -Ksi tipped to qualify.

Group 18

Anglican SHS will take on Bompata Presbyterian SHS, St. Francis and Agric Nzema Community SHS in this group with Kass expected to secure qualification. The three other schools may not have quality indepth to challenge the 2016/2017 Regional Champions who are determined to secure qualification. Kass has looked good in their build up to the qualifiers and are expected to qualify ahead of the other schools.

KASS tipped to qualify.

Group 19

KSTS will not have it easy against Kofi Agyei SHTS and Ofoase SHTS in this group. The form of KSTS has been quite patchy after a string of defeats including a 1:4 loss to OKESS In their last friendly game. Kofi Agyei looks quite prepared for the qualifiers and should pose a serious threat to KSTS.

The  three very good players left on the books of KATS from their last year squad should really carry the team else it might be difficult for Ksts.

Kofi Agyei SHTS Tipped to qualify

Group 22

Aduman SHS will have competition from Tweneboa Kodua SHS in this exciting group with the two sides looking very ready for the game. The two sides drew with OKESS in their build up. Aduman combines maturity with talent and boasts of very matured but talented players who can bully or wear you into submission. Their middle is robust and their defence is watertight. TKSS perhaps have the most dangerous attack of the teams I have witnessed so far. Their attacking trio is very lethal and swift and will likely create penalty opportunities against any aggressive side. Joy Professional and Nuru Ameen will add to the numbers. The midfield and defence of TKSS looks quite porous and that will gift Aduman the upper hand. Too close to call between Aduman and TK.

Aduman tipped to qualify.

Group 28

This group will be another exciting one to watch out for as ball playing Kwasi Oppong SHS takes on robust and solid Ejisu SecTec and Amaniampong SHS in this group.

Kwasi Oppong are a beautiful side to watch with sweet passing game which gets every player active in the game. They were a delight to watch after beating OKESS 1:0.

Ejisu SecTec is equally looking good with some very good matured players who will pose serious threat to other teams. Amaniampong will also  not be pushovers but may not have the quality of the other two sides. Should Kwasi Oppong scale through this group they will be a side to watch out for in the main competition.

Kwasi Oppong SHS tipped to qualify.

Group 30

Jachie Pramso SHS will take on Ghanamy, Bonwire and Barekese in this very group. Japass got their preparations underway quite early and seemed prepared for this qualifiers.

Barekese also looks quite prepared but seemed to have lost some weight with the exit of Coach Mike back to Adu Gyamfi SHS and Coach Hamza to OKESS.

Bonwire will also not be pushovers but Coach Stone should be able to guide Japass to qualify from this group.

Jachie Pramso SHS tipped to qualify

Group 31

Collins SHS have shown consistency in their friendlies and looks good ahead of the qualifiers but faces serious threat from Okomfo Anokye SHS, Ghana Muslim Mission and Kings College.

This is one of the most difficult groups to predict as Collins will find GMM, OASS and Kings College quite tough. The winner of this group will have to be strategic and carefully apply match and man management skills to qualify. All three matches will be tough for each school and therefore rotating players to give rest to key players when in good position will be key. Kings looks like a resurgent side with quality and matured players in their fold. Coach G. K. Manu’s Okomfo Anokye SHS will be very keen on qualification. Volleyball Champions GMM wants to start a football project as well while Collins are keen on replicating their form two years ago.

Collins SHS tipped to qualify.
