Kumasi High School managed to defend one goal lead against New Edubiase SHS to book qualification ticket to the next round. It was not so much a vintage performance from KUHIS who were threatened on some occasions by New Edubiase. New Edubiase could not utilize their chances as KUHIS seemed a bit threatened anytime they attack. KUHIS maintained their one goal lead to book a qualification ticket to the next round.
KASS seemed to be cruising to victory agaist Agona SHTS until a late equalizer form ASTEC pushed the game to penalties. Kass were confident of winning as they came to stadium in their numbers. However Astec stood toe to toe with them to push the game to the shootout.
ASTEC managed to win on penalties against all the odds to book a qualification ticket to the next round.
Simms Commercial were also kicked out by Obuasi SecTech after a 1:1 scoreline which saw Obuasi struggle through out the game. Simms contained O’SECTEC through out the entire game as the Obuasi based school found the going quite tough. O’SECTEC came from a goal down to equalise and take the lead as they held on to win 2:1.
T. I. Amass Kumasi have secured a place in the next round of the ongoing Ashanti Regional inter schools soccer competition at the Baba Yara Stadium following a 1:0 win over Mankranso SHS.
A very robust resilient Mankranso side gave Amass some questions to answer but the tactical acumen of Prince Acheampong Sabuto on the bench for Amass was enough to break the resolve of Mankranso.
The game ended 1:0 in favor of Amass.
In the second game of the day KNUST SHS won on penalties after drawing goaless with Adobewura Community SHS.
It was a difficult game for KNUST as Adobewura stretched them to their limit.
But KNUST managed to win on penalties to qualify for the next round.
