2019 ‘ASHANTI TOP 8′ GALA’: Eight Senior High Schools Selected to Compete on 6th March

The Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council in Partnership with Daring Team Ghana will stage the 3rd Edition of the Ashanti Top 8 Gala tournament for the best eight selected schools in soccer. The tournament is in commemoration with the 22nd Annual Students Week Celebrations of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council.

The first edition of the tournament was won by Kumasi High School with Sakafia winning the second edition of the tournament.

The tournament has become a strong feature in the calendar of sports in the Region with many schools upbeat about the tournament every year.

Eight Schools have been selected to battle it out in the competition on the basis of merit and performance.

The first four semi finalists of this year’s schools and colleges soccer competition automatically make the list. The schools are T. I. Amass, Kumasi, Opoku Ware School, Asanteman SHS and Islamic SHS.

Five times Champions of the Region Adu Gyamfi SHS also joins the pack. Defending Champions of the tournament Sakafia SHS will also join the competition.

Osei Kyeretwie who made the last eight in the inter-schools and colleges soccer competition this year also joins the competition.

Winner of the maiden edition of the tournament Kumasi High School picks the last slot to complete the list of eight schools.

The schools will battle it out on the 6th of March, 2019 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Various prizes are up for grabs  by the competing schools and individuals.
