The Awards Committee of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council announced this year’s award winners at the Dinner and Awards Ceremony held at Our Lady of Grace SHS, Mamponteng.
The winners of the 22 different category of awards each took home plaques and citations as well as other packages.
The Awards Committee settled on the winners following nominations by Local SRCs and a follow up Scrutiny and analysis in various forms after which the 11 member committee put it into voting to determine the winners.
The committee secured sponsorship from City of Gold Jewellers, Prudential College who offered scholarships to all individual winners, Onetouch Publications who and mtn product sponsorship.
Gyasi Simon Peter beat competition from Prempeh’s Frank Agyei, Amass’s Prince Acheampong Sabuto and last year’s winner KUGISS’s Joyce Boaitey.
Gyasi Simon Peter is credited with the resurgence of St. Louis Sports which went into coma for a very long time.
His passion for hard work is unrivaled as he braces the odds to position St. Louis as a a powerhouse in school sports.
St Louis SHS in recent times have been on the ascendancy in sports competing strongly in athletics, handball, volley, basketball, etc. Mr. Gyasi Simon has been on the forefront in the rejuvenation of St Louis Sports.
The Awards Committee also awarded T. I. Amass Kumasi as the Best Sports School for the 2018/2019 academic year.
T. I. Amass swept many trophies including Girls athletics competition and also competed strongly in all disciplines.
The team effort showcased by T. I. Amass in all disciplines convinced the committee to award them the Most Outstanding Sports School for the 2018/2019 academic year.
