The Awards Committee of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council announced this year’s award winners at the Dinner and Awards Ceremony held at Our Lady of Grace SHS, Mamponteng.
The winners of the 22 different category of awards each took home plaques and citations as well as other packages.
The Awards Committee settled on the winners following nominations by Local SRCs and a follow up Scrutiny and analysis in various forms after which the 11 member committee put it into voting to determine the winners.
The committee secured sponsorship from City of Gold Jewellers, Prudential College who offered scholarships to all individual winners, Onetouch Publications who and mtn product sponsorship.
High flying school of the moment Tepa SHS has been adjudged the Most Outstanding Institution in the shanti Region for the 2018/2019 academic year. Tepa SHS beat off competition from shortlisted schools including Opoku Ware School, T. I. Amass, Ksi, Fomena Amass and Adu Gyamfi SHS.
The Tepa based institution have distinguished themselves in various disciplines and won many accolades within the year in retrospect. They have made waves in both curricular and co curricular activities. Location, logistics and Infrastructurual challenges have not been a barrier to this determined school as they continue to make huge inroads in all competitions.
The Awards Committee of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council has therefore honoured Tepa as the Best Institution in Ashanti Region for the 2018/2019 academic year.
Tepa surprised many in the National Science and Maths Quiz, Luv fm/ARSRC Debate, Inter-co, volley, culture, SRC Students Week etc.
Ghallywood Movie Star John Dumelo presentated the plaque to the SRC delegation of Tepa. For their role, the outcome SRC executives of the institution received scholarships with Prudential College to pursue short courses as part of enhancing their capacity.
Most affable and passionate Headmaster of the school Mr. Oduro Antwi was specially cited for his role in the success story of Tepa SHS as well as the Traditional Council.
