Yolanda Amankwa Danso, a student of St Louis SHS has been crowned the winner of the National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Youth Essay competition organized for schools across the country.
Twenty shortlisted applicants drawn from schools across the country gathered at MJ Grand Hotel, East Legon to go through the final phase of the selection after the initial shortlisting process.
Yolanda Amankwah Danso eventually emerged winner having demonstrated a clear understanding of the SDGs through her write up.
She was awarded a cash prize of Gh5000.00 and certificate.
A student Mfantsiman Girls of Cape Coast placed 2nd winning a cash prize of 3000 Cedis while another participant from Kumasi Anglican SHS picked the 3rd spot with 2000 cedis.
Achimota School placed 5th in the contest.
Cleopatra Azantilow, the compatriot of the winner also from St Louis SHS placed fourth in the competition.
The SDG National Youth Competition was organized by Youth Employment Synergy with support Danish based Civil Society in Development.
