His exit has paved the way for a new young dynamic Headmaster of St Hubert Seminary and Current Ashanti CHASS Chairman to assume the enviable role as the Headmaster of Opoku Ware school.
The new Headmaster of OWASS is credited with the high level of discipline and academic prowess of St Hubert Seminary over the past years and is poised to change the face of his new home Opoku Ware School.

NEC duly updated the fraternity on the progress of the selections and the recommendation that had been made pending the final approval of the Archbishop and also promised to update on any further development.We have been informed by the Archbishop of the final selection of a new headmaster who is a priest and in the person of Rev. Fr. Stephen Owusu Sekyere. NEC is yet to have an official welcome meeting with him since at the moment his hands are full with admission issues, we will surely update the fraternity on a our meeting with him.
Below is a brief profile of the newly appointed headmaster of Opoku Ware School;
PROFILE OF REV. FR. STEPHEN OWUSU SEKYERE HEADMASTER OPOKU WARE SCHOOL
He was born on 18th December, 1976 at Maase-Offinso and attended Maase R/C Primary ‘A’ from 1984 to 1986 and continued at Wiafe Akenten Int. School, New-Town Offinso from 1986 to 1989. He entered St. Jerome Sec. Sch. Abofour-Offinso in 1989 to 1991 and continued at St. Hubert Minor seminary, Kumasi in 1991 to 1996 were he obtained his ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level.
After one-year post-national service at National Service Secretariat, Offinso District, he gained admission into St. Paul’s Major Seminary, Sowutuom Accra from 1997 to 2000 for his Spiritual formation and Philosophical Studies. In the year 2000 to 2004 he continued at St. Peter’s Major Seminary, Pedu Cape Coast where he obtained a certificate in Sacred Theology, he obtained a B.A. HONS, Sociology and Religion in 1999 to 2002 at the University of Ghana and a Post Diploma in Education from 2003 to 2004 at the University of Cape Coast. In 2010 to 2012 he was awarded a MS in Educational Leadership at Madonna University, Livonia-Michigan USA.
On 13th July, 2003 he was ordained to the Deaconate at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Buokrom and was finally ordained to Priesthood in July 2004 at the St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, 4BN Barracks – Kumasi Archdiocese.
He has also held positions in various endeavour, notably;

●A Teacher in Social Studies, CRS and Scriptures, St. Hubert Minor Seminary Senior High, 2005 – 2009

●Resident priest and helping in the Parish Ministry at St. James Catholic Church, Ferndale-Detroit USA
●Rector/Headmaster, St. Hubert Minor Seminary Senior High, 2012 – 2019
Rev. Fr. Stephen Owusu Sekyere is currently the Headmaster of Opoku Ware School, Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), a Member of the National Executive Council of Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) and Priest in charge of St. Martin De Perres Catholic Church, Prisons Barrack- South Suntreso Kumasi.
