UHSQ Contest 3: Barekese, KUGISS beat O. T., Islamic, Others to Qualify

The Preliminary round of the Ultimate High School Quiz got off to a beautiful start yesterday when six schools secured qualification to the main contest scheduled for January next year.

Ultimate FM, the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council and the Regional Education Directorate teamed up to deliver this beautiful showpiece which saw 24 schools compete in three contests for six automatic slots available.

The program is hosted at Anglican SHS with the exciting quiz master Mr Raphael Sarkodie taking the students through four rounds of English Language, Social studies, General Knowledge and Audio visuals.

Barekese produced an incredible performance to hit the highest points so far in the competition after four rounds of grueling display which saw Kumasi Girls, Osei Tutu SHS and others push Barekese to bring the best out of them.

Kumasi Girls were favourites due to their pedigree in this competition but surprisingly Barekese proved to be tough customers as they matched the ladies boot for boot and finally succeeded in winning the competition to qualify for the main competition.

Kumasi Girls also lived up to expectations after securing the second slot to beat O. T. to the last slot.

O. T. and Islamic may likely qualify as one of the losing schools with highest point build up after all the twelve contests.
