Day three of the ongoing Ashanti Regional inter schools and colleges soccer competition organized by the schools and colleges sports federation got off to a blistering start when Aduman SHS clashed with Tepa SHS in their round of 32 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium.
An early goal by Aduman SHS was enough go settle the scores as Tepa struggled unsuccessfully to stage a come back. Aduman finished the game 1:0 to qualify to the next round.
In the second game of the day, soccer powerhouse Islamic SHS needed a last minute penalty goal to win 1:0 against Kenyasi SDA SHS in another exciting encounter.
The Kenyasi SDA side matched Islamic in every department of the game until a goal melee led to a handball which got Islamic a penalty kick which was beautifully converted.
Islamic thus won by a goal margin to qualify to the round of 16.
The third game of the day saw Kwasi Oppong SHS clashed with Agona SecTech in a thrilling encounter. The two talented sides were a delight to watch. Kwasi Oppong looked very comfortable on the ball with their swift passing game but failed to create enough opening or chances.
Agona SHTS were themselves but also failed to create goal scoring opportunities as the game headed for penalties.
In the shootouts Agona SecTec eventually won 5:4 to progress to the next round of the competition.
Osei Tutu SHS are currently down by 1:0 to Armed Forces SHTS courtesy a beautifully converted penalty.
The game ended 1:0 for Armed Forces as O. T. crashed out of the competition.
