After a long wait,the election and handing over ceremony of the Greator Accra Regional Students Representative Council came off during an emergency one -day Congress held at The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School,Legon on Saturday,24th April,2020.
The theme for the occasion was”Education amidst crises” and was graced by Ms.Monica Ankrah, Greator Accra Regional Education Director,Mr.Enoch Acheampong Smith Builderman, Executive Director of ILEAD-AFRICA and Mr. Kofi Asare, Executive Director of Africa Education Watch and Hon. Isaac Jay Hyde president of the National Union of Ghanaian Students alongside some of his executives. Hon.Tracy Asamoah, president of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council also made appearance at the event together with a few Executives from the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council.
The election of Regional Executives of the Greator Accra Students Representative Council was through an electronic system. Delegates, representing the 53 schools in the Greater Accra region elected Master Benson Sena and his running mate Miss.Sandra Abena Bansah. However, results of the election have been withheld pending a petition challenging a breach of constitutional rules governing electioneering processes of the Council.
Despite the withholding of the election results,the occasion ended with the glamour of variety of food and drinks coupled with joyous singing and dancing.After this,the delegation from the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council led by Hon.Tracy Asamoah, the president departed to their home after bidding the Greater Accra Regional Students Representative Council farewell and wishing them well in all their endeavors.
