Who Goes To The Final: OWASS, Prempeh in Battle Royal Against Munche and ADGISS

The battle lines are drawn, the swords are drawn, the combatants are ready, the battle field will be the Auditorium of the Christian Service University College and the date is next week Wednesday 23rd June.

The semi final battles for the High School Debate contests are set as resurrecting Prempeh College take on the high flying Adventist Girls SHS in an unpredictable battle. The Adventist Girls overpowered Yaa Asantewaa Girls while Prempeh accounted for Presby SHS in the quarter finals of the competition.

Many have predicted a win for the Adventist Girls due to their delivery, charisma, command over the Queens language and stage craft but Prempeh College is too experienced to be pushed over by Debates giants ADGISS who are waking up from a long slumber. It will be a contest too close to call. A win for ADGISS will be surprising though. The two schools will debate on the topic “School has more influence on the behavior of the youth than home.”

Then the battle fit for the gods will be the 2nd contest of the day as two time finalist and three consecutive semi finalist Opoku Ware School take on experienced St Monica SHS who themselves are three time semi finalist.

The two schools will battle it out for the single ticket to the final and the bragging rights.

The two schools will debate On the topic “It is justified to blame the spate in armed robbery and cyber-crime on the high rate of unemployment in the country.”

The experienced Opoku Ware School has a tough task on their hand and must be flawless to deliver victory against a very eloquent St Monica SHS side. Should Owass repeat certain weaknesses they have shown in the earlier contests, then they are in for a surprise.

The Debate is an initiative of Luv 99.5 Fm with partnership from Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council and the Conference of Heads of Second Cycle Schools.

The road to the final and quarter final results are spelt out below.
