KWASI OPPONG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Kwasi Oppong Senior High school is a private institution founded by Dr. Kwasi Oppong, a prominent Christian businessman with vision of inculcating positive virtues in today’s generation. The school opened on Friday 30th October 2009 with a population of twenty-five (25) students consisting of eleven (11) boarders and Fourteen (14) day students. Out of the twenty-five (25) fourteen (14) were girls and eleven (11) were boys. The school started with eight (8) teachers headed by Mr. Osei Tutu Ababio.
By 2nd November, 2009 (Monday) as many as eighty-nine (89) students had been enrolled. This consisted of fifty-two (52) boarders and thirty-seven (37) day students. The figure consisted of forty-six (46) girls and forty-three (43) boys.
Kwasi Oppong Senior High School has been approved by both G.E.S and W.A.E.C as such an approved center for WASSCE examination.
The school has both Day and Boarding facilities. Kwasi Oppong Senior High School has a Boarding facilities for both boys and girls with well-furnished Study room and TV room.
Christianity is the bedrock of the school even though it is a non-denominational facility. The motto of the school is: Godfearing, Leadership, Creativity and Excellence.
To provide quality education through the provision of comprehensive programmes that challenge students to be effective leaders, creative and morally responsible citizens under well-trained and motivated teachers employing the state of the art technology.
To become the leading Private Senior High School in Ghana and Ashanti Region in particular.
Kwasi Oppong Senior High has presented four (4) batches of students for the final WASSCE exams – 2013 – 2016. Most of the students who have completed from this school have gained admission into the various tertiary institution pursuing their programme of interest.
The following are some of the facilities the school can boast of;
- Library: Kwasi Oppong Library is located on the second floor of the school premises. The Library is opened 14 hours daily from Monday to Friday. It remains closed during weekends and holidays.
The Library has a total collection of about 4000 books, which include textbooks, inspirational books, health and sports, short stories, fiction and reference books. Books and collections in the Library are arranged according to the various subjects and collections which makes it convenient and easy to search for.
The Library can hold a number of over seventy (70) students at a time with a room designed for discussions.
In Kwasi Oppong Library books are lend to students by the use of student’s ID card.
Reference materials are also available to staff to aid in the teaching of students. Plans are far advanced to get the Library connected to our WIFI internet connection to aid in research by both teachers and students.

A comprehensive scholarship program is set up to offer brilliant students scholarship based on their academic merit to help motivate them towards achieving educational excellence. Students who perform extraordinary in the sporting arena are also offered scholarship.
Sports – Football (Boys and Ladies), Athletics, Volleyball, Netball
The school has been performing creditably well in the sports arena. The school won the Maiden edition of Private Senior High Schools 2015/2016 Inter-School Football competition held at Kumasi Sports stadium.
For the first time the school athletes also performed incredibly well during 2015/2016 Inter-Colleges Athletics Competition. The school was able to secure as many as four medals.
At KOSHS entertainment is a lifestyle on campus. A committee is established to spearhead the entertainment in the school. The entertainment committee has infused some leisurely time in the school’s academic calendar as a way to relax the brains of both students and teachers. Since the school has boarding facilities for both boys and girls, weekly (Saturdays) entertainment programs are organize for the students which incorporate various dynamic activities and is very fascinating for students. The weekly entertainment is made to last for two hours’ duration and is very educative in nature. Programmes for entertainment are scrutinize by the entertainment committee together with the prefects to bring out programme of non-violating but exciting and educative for students. The committee also make sure it conforms to the school’s rules.

- Drama Club
The Drama Club was set up to offers interested students an opportunity to develop their creative skills in acting. These arts include acting, singing and dancing, stage management, set design, stage craft, costumes, and make-up. This group are usually made to perform during drama competitions and special occasions in the school. This club is spearheaded by a entertainment committee.
- Red Cross Society
It is a new group which is very soon going to be inaugurated to equip students with first aid skills.

STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVES CONCIL (SRC)
At the helm of student administration is the Students’ Representative Council, headed by a President with two assistants one as the Vice-president of SRC and the other as an Ass. Boys prefect. The SRC continue to remain the mouthpiece and liaison between the school administration and the students.
All other student groups, clubs and societies fall under the SRC and are accountable to its president. Among other things, the SRC ensures the maintenance of discipline among students and promotes a good student-administration forum.
