Following the induction of prefects and SRC executives, as tradition demands, they were duly taken through an extensive three-day orientation programme covering several topics of great importance to enable them fully appreciate the mandate they possess and to efficiently and effectively carry out their respective duties.
The orientation programme was graced by the headmistress, the assistant headmistress – administration, the senior housemistress, Mr Robert Amuzu, Mr Emil Ameyibor and Rev. Sister Evelyn Adjei. The welcome address was given by Mrs. Dinah Donkye Arthur. After which attendants were expansively enlightened on the mission and vision of the institution which was primarily to train girls to attain both academic and moral excellence. They were then reminded of the school’s rules and regulations. Lastly, the Headmistress, who happens to be the first SLOPSAN to head the school, gave an intriguing presentation on the theme: “St Louis then and now: The way forward”.
The second orientation session started off with an in-depth talk on time management by the Assistant Headmistress- domestic. After which the SRC general patron threw more light on the relationship between the SRC and the prefectorial board.
For the climax of this three-day journey, they were thoroughly taken through the channel of communication and the structure of this reputable institution. A talk was given on leadership, which was then followed by a spirit-filled word from Rev. Father Eric Ankapong on the spirituality of the student leader.
At the end of the day, an oath was sworn by prefects and SRC executives to serve with selfless dedication. They were entreated to work as a team by exhibiting co-operation, co-ordination, co-existence and collaboration. They were further admonished to make time for their books, to lead by example and most importantly to love God, to love their various offices and to love this noble institution as they uphold and defend its dignity and good name. So much was gotten from the three-day knowledge packed orientation and the 2020/2021 batch of prefects promised to deliver nothing short of selfless leadership.
